Youtube Recreations: Ochikeron's Creamy Scambled Eggs & Tomato Rice Bowl

Doesn't it look yummy? Well it was, hence why there is only one photo of it!
I recreated Ochikeron Creamy Scambled Eggs & Tomato Rice Bowl, it isn't the first recipe of hers I have recreated...and it certainly won't be the last.

Instead of the Tomato Concasse she placed on top, I kept the skins and seeds because I really love tomatoes, and instead of Sesame Oil I used Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and I added Thyme. Instead of Soy Milk, I used Almond Milk but I don't taste much of a difference between them anyways. I also added freshly chopped green onions on top. :D

Enjoy the Food Porn!

Until our next Adventure, Tani

Perpetual Learner

My mom is fluent in about four languages and familiar with a total of eight. I know English, conversational French, bits of Japanese, and now trying my hand at Tagalog. Compared to my mother I think I'm a failure in the language department, while others think that's somewhat impressive.
(My notebook for Tagalog Lessons)
Learning French has probably helped me with understanding some bits of the grammatical structure, while at the same time it's different. It does feel easier to learn another language after you learn the 2nd one. I feel that I could be conversational in five languages by the time I'm 35. Here's to hoping. You never stop learning, am I right?

Until next time.

Lactose-Intolerant Woes

As a student worker, I have the woe of working in our Art Building's Computer lab at night. You see the woe of it is, the building was built in the 1930s, while remodeled a few times, it still contains a boiler heating system. At night, the heat is "off" which leaves me, huddled with a blanket, drinking hot coco, trying to stay warm until my shift is over at midnight.

While I've always been iffy with an overdose of milk or cream products, which seemed to have gotten worse with my last summer trip to France, I'm now severely lactose-intolerant. It's something I'm still trying to adjust to, and thinking that Dark Hot Coco would be relatively safe, I was sincerely wrong.

One serving of this caused over 12 hours of severe... tummy unpleasantry, which ensued of lack of sleep and one missed class this morning. My friend's say, "Why don't you just take the pills?" I could, if I had money, but I don't want to be dependent on pills just to eat. Having to remember to take it with some lactose-free food before hand because it has to reach your intestines before the harmful food gets there. Why so much trouble when you don't get the formula right - you're sick again. I'm doing my best to be dairy-free but it just frustrates me, my attempt to stay warm, made me horribly sick. I can't win can I?
